UX/UI Design
Global Kitchen is a conceptual app design that revolutionizes how people discover and enjoy healthy, diverse, and exciting recipes from around the world. This app is designed to be a culinary gateway, connecting users to a vast array of international cuisines and flavors, all while promoting healthy eating habits.

The app features an intuitive and user-friendly interface that allows users to effortlessly search for recipes based on their dietary preferences, health goals, and culinary curiosity. From the delicious spices of Asia to the rich flavors of Mediterranean cuisine, Global Kitchen brings the world's kitchens to your fingertips, encouraging culinary exploration and cultural appreciation.

Problem Statement When many people think of eating healthy, blandness often comes to mind, with diets dominated by salads, grain bowls, chicken breasts, and smoothies. This limited perspective on healthy eating stems from a predominantly Eurocentric viewpoint, heavily influenced by white, upper-middle-class communities.

A quick search for "examples of healthy recipes" reveals a narrow definition of what constitutes healthy eating, with little variety and a bias towards foods considered mainstream for white, non-immigrant Americans. This Eurocentric lens implies that other cultures' foods are not as healthy, marginalizing diverse culinary traditions and limiting people's exposure to the rich, flavorful, and nutritious options available worldwide (Patel, 2018).

There is a clear need for a resource that broadens the understanding of healthy eating by incorporating diverse, exciting, and culturally rich recipes from around the globe. This can help dispel the myth that healthy food must be bland and monotonous, offering people a wider variety of delicious and nutritious options.

App Goals Enrich Diets with Multi-Cultural Food: Provide users with access to a diverse array of recipes from different cultures, encouraging a richer and more varied diet.

Redefine Healthy Eating: Help users understand that healthy eating is not limited to Eurocentric dishes but includes a variety of foods that align with their cultural and personal preferences.

Amplify Voices of People of Color: Feature recipes and stories from different cultures to give visibility and recognition to the culinary contributions of people of color.
